GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Participants must enter via myABF.

2. Entries close 5:00pm Friday, 22 March 2024 or prior if places filled.  After cut-off date entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Director.

3. Visitors with current ABF membership  are welcome.

4. The QBA System and Alerting Regulations will apply.

5. Each player must have an approved ABF Systems Card.

6. Green and Blue Systems and Brown Sticker Conventions and Treatments are permitted.  It is the players' responsibility to ensure the correctness of their     system classification.

There will be one field, but prizes will be awarded for each category:

  • Novice :          both players must have fewer than 50mps*
  • Restricted :    both players must have fewer than 300mps*
  • Open:             

*Eligibility for masterpoint requirements as at 28 January 2024.

Friday 29th March 1:30pm  Walk - in Pairs $20 per pair.   

Matchpoint Swiss Pairs:  

Session 1  Saturday 30th March  9:30am  

Session 2 Saturday 30th March   1:30pm

Swiss Teams:

Session 1 Sunday 31st March     9:30am

Session 2 Sunday 31st March     1:30pm

Session 3 Monday 1st April          9.30

Followed by presentations 

Red Points are awarded in the Swiss Pairs and Swiss Teams events.  Red Points are awarded in the Walk-in Pairs.

Mobile phones are NOT ALLOWED to be used during session times.  Please see the Tournament Organiser, William van Bakel to look after your phone If you are expecting an urgent call.

WELLNESS GUIDELINES

Players and officials are asked not to attend any event if they are infectious, or if they are supposed to be isolating or quarantining. Those who come to play and, feeling unwell, self-diagnose that they may be infectious, should inform the director and leave the venue.

Sunbus operates a number of buses to access Cairns Bridge Club.  

Bus 130 runs along Greenslopes St, a bus stop is at the front of the club.  Translink journey planner is here

Morning and afternoon tea is provided. Bring your own lunch

Additional Information

The club house is on a single level, with ample parking, disabled parking on the Eastern side. 

The beautiful Cairns Botanic Gardens are  accessed across the road, with many cafe options.

Cairns Bridge Club was established on this location in 1972. Every year we welcome new and returning visitors to enjoy playing in our sessions, whilst enjoying our tropical climate.
