GENERAL INFORMATION
Join our Fundraiser supporting the Rotary Foundation’s End Polio NOW project
Everyone’s voice and dollar matters in this critical final stretch.
We are still in a fight to reach every child with vaccines. Polio is a "zero-sum" game: as long as the virus exists anywhere, it remains a threat everywhere.
The Risk of Inaction: Experts estimate that if eradication efforts stopped today, the world could see a resurgence of up to 200,000 new cases annually within a decade.
A Borderless Threat: Because the virus is highly contagious and spreads through contaminated water or person-to-person contact, a single traveller can reintroduce the disease to a polio-free country.
One in 200 infections leads to irreversible paralysis. By vaccinating over 2.5 billion children, Rotary and its partners have prevented more than 20 million people from being paralysed. If successful, polio will become only the second human disease in history to be eradicated, following smallpox.
Join us for an event to raise funds to eradicate Polio
Every donation helps us obtain the support, transport, and materials needed in the fight against polio. Right now, every $1 donated is matched 2:1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, tripling your impact!
