GENERAL INFORMATION
It will run concurrently as an in-person and online session.
The in-person component will be at the Waverley Bridge Club

The online component will use Microsoft ‘Teams’ and you will be able to view the presentation as it is being presented at the Waverley Bridge Club.
The presenter is LEIGH GOLD.
Besides being an excellent director, Leigh is a very accomplished bridge player who has played for Victoria on multiple occasions. He has also successfully presented similar courses to various groups in the past.
It will be a full day event starting at 10am.
The cost is $15.00.
This price includes an essential book for inexperienced directors titled
Director is Called
As this is the first of 3 sessions to qualify people to become club directors, we will look at the basic non technical aspects of being a club director.This is what BV have asked for accreditation;
This session we will be focusing on Laws 1 & Movements 1, with Laurie taking the 3rd in a seperate session.
Prior to the 3rd session, all participants will need to have the 6 shadowing sessions signed off, before attempting the exam.
The book required for this session is the 2017 edition of ‘Director is called’ by John McIlrath.
The topics will include
1. Opening lead out of turn
2.Lead out of turn
3. Revoke
4. Pass & Bid out of rotation
5. Insufficient Bids
6. Penalty Cards
7. Table movements for duplicates.
8. Role of the director.
This will be taught in person at the Waverley Bridge Club and will also be streamed online. Those at the venue will be given a copy of John's book, 'Director is Called' on the 12th April.They will also receive the book in 'pdf' format after they enter the training session through MyABF.Those online will receive the book through normal postage. However, in case it does not arrive before the 12th April, they will also receive the book in 'pdf' format after they enter the training session through MyABF.
