McManamny Club Teams Rules


Club Entry

Moonee Valley Bridge Club will pay the entry fees for MVBC members who register and play in this event.

Any affiliated Victorian club may enter between one and five teams.

All Team members must be from the same club. All club members are allowed.

Clubs may choose to subsidise the entry fees or collect fees from their members.

Clubs that enter only one or two teams may combine by mutual agreement to form a ‘Combined Club’ of three to five teams and be eligible for the CROFTS trophy.

The Event Convenor may combine any remaining club entries into a Combined Club(s) A Team’s composition must comply with:

  • Teams may consist of 4-6 players

  • For each Grand Master, there must be a corresponding player below State Level

  • For each Life Master, there must a corresponding player below National level

  • Teams of 4 players at or below National Master level are permitted to play together.

  • The more experienced pair in each team must play against the more experienced pair

    from the opposition team.

  • If all the players in a team are of the same rank (i.e., National) they may choose who

    plays with whom.
    Players are to bring their own lunches.

    The event will be a one-day Swiss Teams competition. It will qualify for B5 Red Points. The Event Convenor is responsible for:

  • applying to the Victorian MP Secretary for the allocation of points

  • advise Director of number of entries

  • agree dealing and booklet requirements

  • submitting the Red Point award file to the State Masterpoint Secretary

    The CROFTS trophy will be awarded to the club with the highest average VPs of all teams from that club.

    The STOKES trophy will be awarded to the best-performing team.
